Chief Economic Advisor to speak on India's Growth Story at Raj Bhavan Kerala
Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) to the Government of India, will deliver a talk on 'Global Economic Trends: India's Challenges and Prospects' on 17th June, 2025 at 4 p.m. in Kerala Raj Bhavan. Hon'ble Governor Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will preside over the function.
The growth story of India especially in manufacturing and IT sectors has been quite phenomenal in recent years and India is being recognized as a key player in the global economic platform. Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran will present India's opportunities and the challenges that lay ahead for planners and policymakers alike in the context of India becoming the fourth largest economy of the world in GDP terms.
These factors along with economic diplomacy, international trade and tariff and the Prime Minister's call for Make In India (Atma Nirbhar Bharat), will form part of the deliberations by the Chief Economic Advisor.
Shri Anantha Nageswaran is a PhD from the University of Massachusetts and has taught in premier institutes like IIMs and Singapore Management University and was a part of Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council before becoming CEA to the Government of India in 2022. As CEA, Shri Nageswaran has focused on technological innovation in economic forecasting and has ardently promoted inclusive growth.

ഇന്ത്യയുടെ സാമ്പത്തിക വളര്‍ച്ച : കേരള രാജ്ഭവനില്‍ മുഖ്യ സാമ്പത്തിക ഉപദേഷ്ടാവിന്റെ പ്രഭാഷണം
കേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാരിന്റെ മുഖ്യ സാമ്പത്തിക ഉപദേഷ്ടാവായ ഡോ. വി. അനന്ത നാഗേശ്വരന്‍, 2025 ജൂണ്‍ 17-ന് കേരള രാജ്ഭവനില്‍, 'ആഗോള സാമ്പത്തിക നിലവാരം – ഇന്ത്യയുടെ വെല്ലുവിളികളും സാധ്യതകളും' എന്ന വിഷയത്തില്‍ പ്രഭാഷണം നടത്തും. ചടങ്ങില്‍ ആദരണീയനായ ഗവര്‍ണര്‍ ശ്രീ രാജേന്ദ്ര വിശ്വനാഥ് ആര്‍ലേക്കര്‍ അധ്യക്ഷത വഹിക്കും.
ഉല്‍പാദന മേഖലയിലും ഐ.ടി. മേഖലയിലും അസാധാരണമായ വളര്‍ച്ചയാണ് ഇക്കഴിഞ്ഞ വര്‍ഷങ്ങളില്‍ ഭാരതം കൈവരിച്ചത്. ആഗോള സാമ്പത്തിക മേഖലയില്‍ ഇന്ന് ഇന്ത്യ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ട ശക്തിയാണെന്ന് അംഗീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു. ജി.ഡി.പി. അടിസ്ഥാനപ്പെടുത്തി ലോകത്തിലെ നാലാമത്തെ സാമ്പത്തിക ശക്തിയായി ഉയര്‍ന്ന പശ്ചാത്തലത്തില്‍ നമ്മുടെ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ സാധ്യതകളെയും നേരിടേണ്ടതായ വെല്ലുവിളികളെയും കുറിച്ച് ഡോ. അനന്ത നാഗേശ്വരന്‍ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതാണ്.
പുത്തന്‍സാമ്പത്തിക നയങ്ങള്‍ അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര വ്യാപാര-നികുതി ബന്ധങ്ങള്‍ എന്നിവയെ സംബന്ധിച്ചും, ബഹു. പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയുടെ ആഹ്വാനപ്രകാരം നടപ്പിലാക്കി വരുന്ന അഭിമാനപദ്ധതിയായ 'മേക്ക് ഇന്‍ ഇന്ത്യ' (ആത്മനിര്‍ഭര്‍ ഭാരത്) പദ്ധതിയെകുറിച്ചും ഡോ. അനന്ത നാഗേശ്വരന്‍ ഊന്നല്‍ നല്‍കുന്നതാണ്.
മസാച്യുസെറ്റ്സ് സര്‍വ്വകലാശാലയില്‍ നിന്ന് പിഎച്ച്ഡി നേടിയ ശ്രീ അനന്ത നാഗേശ്വരന്‍, ഐഐഎം, സിംഗപ്പൂര്‍ മാനേജ്മെന്റ് യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റി തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രമുഖ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളില്‍ അദ്ധ്യാപകനായി പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചുണ്ട്. 2022-ല്‍ ഇന്ത്യാ ഗവണ്‍മെന്റിന്റെ മുഖ്യ സാമ്പത്തിക ഉപദേഷ്ടാവ് ആകുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രിയുടെ സാമ്പത്തിക ഉപദേശക സമിതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചിരുന്നു. മുഖ്യ സാമ്പത്തിക ഉപദേഷ്ടാവ് എന്ന നിലയില്‍, ശ്രീ നാഗേശ്വരന്‍ സാമ്പത്തിക അവലോകനത്തില്‍ ആധുനിക സാങ്കേതിക വിദ്യയുടെ പ്രയോഗത്തിന് പ്രാധാന്യം നല്‍കിയിരുന്നതോടൊപ്പം എല്ലാ വിഭാഗം ജനങ്ങളെയും ഉള്‍ക്കൊള്ളുന്ന സാമ്പത്തിക പുരോഗതിക്ക് ഊന്നല്‍ നല്‍കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
