വോട്ടു ചെയ്യുകയെന്നത് ജനാധിപത്യപരമായ അവകാശം മാത്രമല്ല കടമയുംകൂടിയാണെന്നും അതിനാൽ എല്ലാവരും സ്വതന്ത്രവും നിര്ഭയവുമായി വോട്ടു രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി ജനാധിപത്യ പ്രക്രിയയിൽ പങ്കാളികളാകണമെന്ന് ഗവര്ണര് ശ്രീ രാജേന്ദ്ര് വിശ്വനാഥ് ആര്ലേക്കര് ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്തു.
ഓരോ വോട്ടും നമ്മുടെ സംസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ ഭാവി രൂപപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിലും അതിന്റെ ഭാഗധേയം നിര്ണ്ണയിക്കുന്നതിലും വ്യക്തമായ പങ്ക് വഹിക്കുന്നുണ്ടെന്നും ജനാധിപത്യം ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നതിൽ ഇത് വളരെ പ്രധാനമാണെന്നും അതിനാൽ എല്ലാപേരും സഗൗരവം വോട്ടവകാശം വിനിയോഗിക്കണമെന്നും ഗവര്ണര് നിര്ദ്ദേശിച്ചു.

Vote freely and fearlessly: Governor
Hon'ble Governor of Keralam Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar appealed the people of Keralam to exercise their franchise in a free and fearless manner. The Governor reminded the people Kerala that voting is not just a democratic right but also a 'duty' and that it must be carried out with utmost diligence and responsibility. 'Each vote is vital in shaping the future of our State and will strengthen the foundations of democracy' – said the Governor in his message on the eve of the poll day.
He exhorted the citizens to turn out in large numbers for polling and vote without fear or inducement to uphold the values of our great democracy.
'Let us rise above apathy and ensure that every eligible voter casts his/her vote with awareness and integrity. Active public participation and engagement in democratic exercises is a prerequisite for the nation's progress' – the Governor added.
