The Governor Shri Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar urged the Marathi community in Kerala to imbibe and enrich Kerala culture. He was speaking at the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations of Marathi community in Adoor.

He said that the contributions be dedicated towards the growth and development of Kerala along with the welfare of the Maratha community and preservation of their culture.

The Governor observed that Chhatrapati Shivaji is a role model for broad thinking and action as Sivaji did not confine his activities within the boundaries of the state.

Appreciating the Marathis for their efforts in preserving their cultural identity, the Governor exhorted them to imbibe and enrich Kerala culture.

He said that Lord Ganesha would bless them to have a broader perspective that would enable the growth and development of culture.

മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയുടെ വികസനത്തിനും മാറാഠികളുടെ ക്ഷേമത്തിനും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതോടൊപ്പം കേരളത്തിന്റെ വളർച്ചയ്ക്കും വികസനത്തിനും കേരളീയരുടെ സേവനത്തിനുമായി പുനരർപ്പിക്കാൻ ഗവർണർ രാജേന്ദ്ര വിശ്വനാഥ് ആർലേക്കർ അടൂരിൽ ഗണേശോത്സവത്തിനായി ഒത്തു കൂടിയ മഹാരാഷ്ട്ര സേവാസമിതി പ്രവർത്തകരെ ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്തു.

മാറാഠി സംസ്കൃതിയും സ്വത്വവും നിലനിർത്തുന്നതിനും പോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനും നടത്തി വരുന്ന ശ്രമങ്ങളെ അനുമോദിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നെ മലയാളത്തിന്റെ മാധുര്യം ഉൾകൊള്ളാനും മലയാളികളുടെ സംസ്കാരവുമായി അലിഞ്ഞു ചേരാനും കൂടി തയാറാകണം എന്ന് ഗവർണർ അഭിപ്രായപ്പെട്ടു. വിശാലമായി ചിന്തിക്കാനും പ്രവർത്തിക്കാനും മാറാഠികൾ ഛത്രപതി ശിവജിയെ മാതൃകയാക്കണം. ശിവജി അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനം മഹാരാഷ്ട്രത്തിന്റെ അതിരുകൾക്കുള്ളിൽ ഒതുക്കി നിർത്തിയില്ല. തെക്ക് തഞ്ചാവൂർ വരെയും വടക്ക് അട്ടക്ക് മുതൽ കട്ടക്ക് വരെയും ഛത്രപതി എത്തി.

അത്തരം മഹത്തായ പ്രവർത്തനത്തിന് മഹാഗണപതിയുടെ അനുഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടാവുമെന്ന് ആർലേക്കർ ആശംസിച്ചു
